Services

Supportive Expressions provides both individual and group sessions for 8-10 people, creating a sense of intimacy and trust. Using neurographic art, music, and conversation, you will gain a sense of calm along with practical tools that you can start using right away. You'll learn how to reduce stress and take care of yourself; communicate your feelings, needs and concerns; and get through challenging situations.

Seniors

The role you play with your family and other loved ones is a major part of your identity. When you lose someone close to you, it can feel like you've lost your own sense of self. This is especially common for older adults who lose a spouse, but it can also affect people who lose siblings, best friends, or other close loved ones. Your identity changes throughout your life and significant changes arise as you reach retirement age. Age identity is a common source of distress for older adults. Group sessions through Supportive Expressions can help you explore and define what your life looks like now.

Youth

Teenage years can be a lot of fun, but they are also often an emotional time. If someone close to you dies or is experiencing long-term illness, it can be incredibly hard. Your world may feel as though it has crashed down around you. It can make you feel very alone, especially as a young person, because you might find that none of your friends have gone through anything similar and won't understand or know what to say. When someone in the family has an advanced serious illness, all family members feel the impact both before and after a death. Our programming provides support in a safe place where children, teens, and young adults who are grieving can share their experiences with the added benefit of neurographic art.

Caregivers

Supportive Expressions runs classes and workshops to help family take care of themselves while caring for an aging or disabled relative or friend. It doesn't matter what your situation is - whether you are caring for someone who lives with you, lives in an assisted living facility or a nursing home, or you're a long-distance caregiver. Going through the classes with people who are experiencing similar situations help you learn from and support one another.
